Australia announces results of exemption inquiry for anti-dumping and anti-subsidy on China-origin zinc coated plate

On August 9 of 2017, the Commissioner of the Anti-Dumping Commission of Australia has completed the exemption inquiry in relation to certain goods which are the subject of anti-dumping measures applying to certain zinc coated (galvanised) steel exported to Australia from the People’s Republic of China (China) the Republic of Korea (Korea) and Taiwan, deciding to exempt the anti-dumping and countervailing duties on imported products from China, and impose 5% of anti-dumping duty on products from South Korea and Taiwan
On September 5 of 2012, Australia launched an anti-dumping investigation on zinc coated plate and zinc coated aluminum sheets imported from mainland China, Korea and Taiwan of China. On November 26 of 2012, Australia launched anti-subsidy investigation on the same projects from China . On August 5 of 2013, Australia announced the affirmative results on the two above investigations . On March 18, 2016, the Anti-Dumping Commission of Australia issued announcement to amend the product description in the original affirmative verdict . On September 22 of 2016, the Commission claimed that the anti-dumping interim review would be carried out on Zinc Coated (Galvanised) Steel from mainland China and Taiwan in accordance to application from Chung Hung Steel Corporation and Yieh Phui (China) Technomaterial Co . , Ltd, which will last from July 1 of 2015 to June 30 of 2016 . On May 4 of 2017, the Commission announced to start the exemption investigation of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy on related products from China.
. The decision took effect from March 10 of 2017. The goods subject to the application for exemption are certain zinc coated (galvanised) steel (“the exemption goods”) meeting the specific characteristics covered by TCO TC 1663110, namely COILS, non-alloy steel, hot rolled, zinc coated (seen the original text), complying with American Society for Testing and Materials Standard A653/A653M-11 with tariff code of 7210 . 49 . 00 . 58.
