The Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India announced on July 21st to launch anti-dumping investigation on photovoltaic battery and pack imported from China (including Taiwan) and Malaysia, about which, Wang Hejun, the director general of Trade Remedy and Investigation Bureau under Ministry of Commerce of China made a statement.
Mr. Wang noted that the Chinese government has attached great importance to anti-dumping investigation on photovoltaic battery and pack launched by India recently, adding that photovoltaic industry is a newly emerged strategic industry related to sustainable development in the world and is of great significance to stimulate electrification and get rid of poverty in villages . He remarked that all countries shall work together to stimulate the sustainable and healthy development of photovoltaic industry rather than abuse trade remedy measures and disturb normal orders in trading.
According to Mr. Wang, the photovoltaic market of India has developed rapidly in recent years with photovoltaic capacity up by 3 . 7 times in past 3 years attributable to photovoltaic battery and pack of high quality and reasonable prices from China; implementing limitation measures on trading of photovoltaic battery and pack will bring bad influences on not only the development of photovoltaic industry and the realization of targets on renewable energy in India, but also the deep integration and long-term development of global photovoltaic industry chain and the economic and trading cooperation between China and India; China hopes that India shall hold a cautious attitude towards this case, conduct investigation strictly based on related regulation to avoid the abuse of trade remedy measures; China is willing to strengthen the communication and cooperation with India, solve problems about trading in order to realize common development of industries of the two countries.
