Yongxiang commences construction of 50,000tpy high-purity crystalline silicon project

On June 30 in the chemical industrial park of Leshan, Sichuan, Yongxiang Co., Ltd. held the ground-breaking ceremony for its 50,000tpy high-purity crystalline silicon and matching new energy project (“the Project”).
With an expected investment of RMB8 billion, the Project will have an annual production value of RMB9 billion and provide 2,000 job opportunities when it goes into operation. Stage I of the Project has been under construction since June 30 and will go into operation in 2018. And construction of its matching facilities are underway now.
The Project is located in the chemical industry park of Leshan city. Upon four technical upgrades, Yongxiang Co., Ltd. has successfully ranked among internationally leading enterprises in terms of comprehensive energy consumption per 1,000kg of polycrystalline silicon and also of consumption of steam, silicon powder, hydrogen and chlorine. When the Project goes into operation, Yongxiang Co., Ltd. will achieve an annual capacity of 70,000t of high purity crystalline silicon, thus making itself one of the largest high purity crystalline silicon producers in the world. By then its production costs are likely to drop to below RMB40,000/t and its products will be able to meet demand for P-type single crystalline silicon and further for N-type single crystalline silicon, even for electronic grade polycrystalline silicon.
