Orient Zirconic to raise EXW prices for some products

Orient Zirconic announced on April 18 at night that it will raise prices for some products in the coming days. The company raised the EXW prices for zirconium oxychloride and zirconium dioxide respectively by RMB1,500/t (USD218/t) and RMB4,000/t (USD581/t) in October 2016 and February 2017 totally, on the basis of which the company decided to raise the EXW prices again by 10-15%. The total sales value of the two products was around RMB0.101 billion in 2015. This price adjustment will attach certain influence on the operation performance in 2017.
It is known that Zhejiang Shenghua Biok Biology has raised prices for zirconium oxychloride recently, and the price rise was close to that of Orient Zirconic. According to a source from Shenghua Biok, there are two reasons for a continuous increase in prices for zirconium oxychloride: on the one hand, prices for zircon sand, the raw material, keep moving up; on the other hand, plants in many places such as Shandong bear great pressure from environmental protection inspection this year, and some large plants such as Guangtong Chemical is affected by the inspection to some extent, leading to a decrease in supply.
