Ministry of Environmental Protection to carry out special inspections of air quality for Q1 in six provinces and cities

The Ministry of Environmental Protection will carry out special inspections of air quality for the first quarter of 2017 in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Shandong and Henan, and randomly inspect environmental pollution prevention and control work in aforementioned provinces and cities.
According to the news published on Henan Provincial Government Network on 14 February, the special inspection team has completed preparation work and will station in Henan for on-site inspection during February 15 and March 15.
The special inspection includes special deployment, minister inspections, visits & inquiries, spot checks and other means. Minister of Environmental Protection Chen Jining and four vice ministers will personally lead inspections.
It is reported that the inspection team will make the inspection results to the public, pass nonfeasance act, slow act, unclear environmental responsibility act and severe environmental problems discovered during inspections to local governments, and instructed the relevant parties to further investigate and find out who is to blame for.
