During December, affected by rising prices for Chinese manganese flake, prices for Chinese selenium dioxide rose substantially; following this, selenium powder prices both in the Chinese and European markets rose successively. As for tellurium metal, boosted by suppliers who held back from selling the material, quotations for Chinese tellurium metal rose to RMB400/kg at a time; but lacking strong demand, transactions in the market were few; and in late December when some traders sold the material at low prices, prices for tellurium metal gradually retreated.
