Influenced by the increased production cost and the prosperity in the futures market, prices of wire rod and rebar rebounded by RMB500-600/t (USD73-87/t) this month. However, the demand from construction projects failed to become strong and it showed some signs of weakening in some regions especially in North China, as it was colder and colder. Insiders predict that prices for wire rod and rebar are likely to fluctuate and generally come down slightly in the coming month.
