Sichuan Anning Iron and Titanium announce significant price increase of ilmenite

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 7 Nov 16 - Sichuan Anning Iron and Titanium Co. (Anning or the company for short) announced significant price increases for its ilmenite on 5 Nov, offering at RMB1,100/t (USD162/t) ex works VAT excluded for its ilmenite 47%min used in pigment production, a RMB200/t (USD30/t) increase in price compared with last month.
A source from the company reported that the increase in transportation costs was the major reason for the further price increase. “After the government set strict regulations on the transportation weight of no more than 30t per lorry, we have to pay more for the delivery fees,” said a source from Anning, “of course, the continuous bullishness in titanium dioxide market is also an important reason.” The source revealed that they have received several enquiries after the declaration, though with no transaction concluded. “Mainstream transaction prices will range between RMB1,000-1,050/t (USD148-155/t) ex works VAT excluded,” added the source.
According to the source, Anning has solved the production process problem in October and now with a daily output of 1,600t of ilmenite, will manage a monthly output of more than 45,000t in November, up by 30% compared with last month. At present, the company holds about 2,000t of stocks.
Founded in Sichuan Anning Iron and Titanium Co. is located in Miyi county, Sichuan province. The company owns an annual production capacity of 1,800,000t of iron ore and 460,000 tonnes of ilmenite and is one of the important Panxi ilmenite producers in China.
