The Chinese tantalum and niobium market still saw no improvement in September. Although some consumers returned to the market, the price still moved down as suppliers competed fiercely based on supply surplus for most products in the market. Limited by environmental cost increase, most tantalum and niobium smelters refused to lower prices sharply in view of rising production cost. As a result, prices for tantalum and niobium will still move on the downward trend next month, but the decline will be marginal.
