The prices of overseas selenium powder were still moving on the upward trend in early July, but the rate has been slowed down and domestic prices still saw a minor increase as a result. The overseas selenium powder market was cooling down in the second half of the month with prices holding stable. Downstream demand remained quite sluggish with Chinese selenium powder prices lacking upward momentum and the price stayed stable in late July. The domestic output of manganese flake was maintained at about 100,000t currently and the price for Chinese selenium dioxide was moving upwards steadily due to rising selenium powder prices.
Prices for Chinese tellurium metal rebounded slightly this month and major Chinese suppliers maintained offers at RMB240-250/kg. The current demand from downstream refrigeration industry remained sluggish with rare deals concluded in the market.
