The Chinese tungsten market was quiet in February as most miners and downstream smelters in China stopped production for the Spring Festival holiday. Market enquiries increased slightly in late February with downstream consumers returning to the market successively to make replenishment. However, as spot supply of tungsten concentrate was tight, suppliers of the material were not anxious to seal deals at low prices, but raised their quotations slightly to test the market. It is anticipated that prices for tungsten products will continue to move up in the Chinese market next month.
