The Chinese tungsten market remained sluggish in January. Even though miners have halted production and suppliers were reluctant to sell, APT and tungsten carbide producers were still under greater cash pressure, so they were forced to lower their quotations to spur sales and free up cash. As the Spring Festival draws close, end-users of tungsten carbide have taken holidays and left the market or continued to hold large purchases. Therefore, the market seldom saw transactions this month and it’s expected remain bleak over the coming month.
