December was a slack time for the Chinese indium ingot 99.99%min market, as end users were reluctant to hold a large volume of stocks with the New Year approaching. Therefore, trading in the spot market remained subdued. The price hovered at low levels before closing the month higher than it had been in late November. Suppliers tried to support the price by holding back from selling, but it was unable to pick up in a big way due to poor demand, despite being bolstered by the national reserve policy. The 100t of the national reserve tooksales to about 550t in late November, so it was little more than a drop in the ocean for producers.
