Chinese stainless steel prices declined further during the month on weak customer demand. With downstream customers still struggling amid the gloomy economy and traditional low season, demand for stainless steel continued to be weak. Traders refused to build large stockpiles,intent on avoiding any risks, and the market inventory remained low. With Chinese New Year almost upon us, insiders predict the market is unlikely to improve in the coming month.
