The Chinese tungsten market saw few transactions in August. Market participants had no confidence in the future market and continued to wait on the sideline with scarce enquiries in the spot market. As the price was close to the production cost, major miners have reduced production volume to offer some sort of support to the price, but some suppliers kept selling at lower prices to recoup funds. Suppliers of APT and tungsten carbide were aggressive in their offers due to the sufficient supply, resulting in the continuous price decline.
