The whole zircon market was relatively quiet in July. Zirconium silicate producers became more cautious in procuring raw material as the slack season of ceramic industry was coming. Meanwhile, zirconium silicate market started to slow down with sporadic spot deals. Due to sluggish demand and environmental protection pressure, the operating rate of zirconium oxychloride industry was low, and most producers just produce to orders. In mid-July the supply of zirconium oxychloride became a little tight, leading producers eager to raise prices, but received a mediocre reaction from downstream users.
