As Chinese stainless steel mills continued to press down purchasing prices of high carbon ferrochrome, Chinese high carbon ferrochrome prices kept going down in July with slack deals and inactive purchase from buyers. Meanwhile, as chrome ore prices stayed stable, more and more smelters met great pressure on their production costs and had to suspend their production, especially for those in North China. Even if chrome ore prices did not change much, many buyers could not accept high offers, so they would rather watch the market or purchase the material in small quantity.
