1. Financial overview
1.1 PMI increases in March after three-month decline
The National Bureau of Statistics issued Monthly Report of PMI of Chinese Manufacturing Industry on April 1st, noting that the PMI increased slightly by 0.1% month-on-month to 50 . 3% in March, 2014 after decreases for consecutive three years since last November . On the contrary, HSBC PMI posted on the same day declined to the 48 . 0 in March, the lowest level over the past eight month . Indicators such as orders, production and inventory improved slightly, but remained on a downward trend in general.
