1. Financial overview
1.1 PMI increases in March after three-month decline
The National Bureau of Statistics issued Monthly Report of PMI of Chinese Manufacturing Industry on April 1st, noting that the PMI increased slightly by 0.1% month-on-month to 50.3% in March, 2014 after decreases for consecutive three years since last November. On the contrary, HSBC PMI posted on the same day declined to the 48.0 in March, the lowest level over the past eight month. Indicators such as orders, production and inventory improved slightly, but remained on a downward trend in general.
