Pig iron market sees slight price appreciation of RMB50-80/t in August, which is caused by cost increasing of pig iron due to price rise of bulk raw material, coupled with short supply of the material as many pig iron companies closed due to environmental protection. Prices of pig iron are at RMB2,850/t VAT included delivered by D/A payment in Pingxiang, Jiangxi; RMB2,810/t VAT included delivered by cash payment in Fushun, Liaoning; RMB2,800/t VAT included ex-works by cash payment in Weifang, Shandong; RMB2,620/t VAT included delivered by cash payment in Delong, Tangshan; RMB2,740/t VAT included ex-works by cash payment in Yicheng, Shanxi; RMB2,690/t VAT included ex-works by cash payment in Xiangfen, Shanxi; RMB2,750-2,800/t VAT included ex-works by cash payment in Laiwu, Shandong; RMB2,680/t VAT included ex-works by cash payment in Wu’an Hebei.
Market price of cast iron rose in mid August by RMB50-100/t, while domestic markets see few activities. This price appreciation is attributed to price increasing of iron ore.
