Chilean iron ore values, costs increase

PITTSBURGH Asian Metal 30 Jul 12 – Despite no increase in sales, prices for Chilean iron ore have experienced slight appreciation since last week, sources reported to Asian Metal. Rising expenses associated with transportation, as well as an increase in inquiry volumes have pushed figures upward despite no pick-up in concluded deals.
Chilean figures for iron ore fines 62-63%min have experienced a slight uptick to USD140-145t CFR China, a rise of USD5.0t week-on-week. FOB numbers have also increased by USD7.0t to end at USD97-100t FOB Chile.
