A trader from China reported that they plan to import bauxite from Brazil in late this year. “The first ship with around 60,000t of bauxite may arrive in China in November or December,” said the source.
According to the source, they will supply Brazil bauxite Al 49-50% Si 4%max, and the price is expected to be around USD30/t FOB Brazil. The freight cost is around USD28-30/t to China, noted the source . They will be able to supply 2-3 ships of bauxite per month in the future.

They have investment in the country . “We have two mine sites, and the annual bauxite capacity will reach 5 million tonnes for each one,” said the source, adding that the resources reserves are around 197 million tonnes in total.
