The selenium powder 99.9%min prices in China were relatively stable compared with the huge drop in May. By the end of June, the mainstream prices for the material was at the range of RMB230-240/kg (USD36.7-38.6/kg), down by RMB15/kg (USD2.4/kg) compared with those of late May. The suppliers were watching the market because the huge lost in May made them very cautious and not willing to lower the price. However, the prices for selenium dioxide 98%min prices increased by RMB7.5/kg (USD1.2/kg) to RMB145-150/kg (USD23.3-24.1/kg) because of the markup of manganese prices caused by the tight supply. However, at the end of June, the prices for selenium dioxide 98%min dropped again to RMB140-145/kg (USD22.5-23.3/kg) under the weak demand.
In June, the mainstream prices for tellurium metal also dropped largely by RMB50/kg (USD8/kg) to USD400-420/kg (USD64.3-67.5/kg). The demand from end users was rather weak and suppliers had to lower the prices to attract clients. Most of the consumers just purchased in hand-to-month volume and would rather not hold too much stock in hand. The sluggish market continued to weigh down the mainstream prices.
