Chinese aluminum fluoride prices in an upward trend

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 19 Dec 14 - Chinese fluorspar price began to climb up from this month and Chinese aluminum fluoride consumers may add stocks next month. Therefore, sources anticipated that the aluminum fluoride price may go up soon.
A Chinese aluminum fluoride producer revealed that they still offer RMB6,400-6,500/t (USD1,032-1,048/t) d.d.p in the local market, but are trying to offer RMB6,600/t (USD1,065/t). “The fluorspar price rose to RMB1,850/t (USD298/t) from RMB1,800/t (USD290/t),” said the source.
The source explained that Chinese aluminum fluoride consumers will add stocks from next month for the Spring Festival, which arrives late this year. Therefore, the aluminum fluoride price may go up a bit next month.
Based on the capacity of 6,500tpm, the plant is running at the output of 5,000tpm and holds few products in stock.
An aluminum fluoride buyer from India predicted that the price may increase slightly due to the rising raw material price, but it cannot surpass USD1,100/t CIF India. “We purchase the material both from China and Europe,” said the source.
However, the buyer pointed out that the aluminum fluoride price may come down again after Chinese Spring Festival.
They consume around 2,000t of the material per month. “We buy the material every quarter and usually hold stocks for consumption in two months,” said the source.
