The price of Chinese imported manganese ore 43-44% decreased from RMB32-33/mtu (USD5.22-5.38/mtu) to RMB31 . 5-32.5/mtu (USD5 . 14-5.30/mtu) in early September, since monthly purchasing activities had been completed and there were sufficient stocks at ports in the spot market. However, supply later showed signs of insufficiency following a full month’s consumption, resulting in the price rising to RMB32-33/mtu (USD5 . 22-5.38/mtu) once again.
. On the supply side, the output reduction at a large North China-based manganese flake plant offset any modest expansion among plants in South China.
