Demand for manganese continued to be weak with declining prices in April. Many Chinese and overseas end users reduced or delayed procurement for the materials due to gloomy economy and poor market condition of the steel industry. Although some producers resumed production as planned, a significant number of producers have ceased production or delayed resumption wary of softening prices.
