Jiangsu Zhongneng's granule silicon expansion project commences

On January 18, Jiangsu Zhongneng Silicon Technology Development started its granular silicon production expansion project.
The project is located in Xuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, Jiangsu Province, with a total investment of RMB4.7 billion (USD727 million). It is planned to be constructed in two phases. In the first phase, its annual production capacity is expected to be expanded to 30,000t in June 2021 and to 54,000t at the end of 2021. The granule silicon material produced by this project is mainly used for continuous drawing of monocrystalline silicon, ingot casting of high-efficiency polycrystalline silicon and gap filling of block polycrystalline silicon. After the project is put into production, it will ease the re-feeding demand in monocrystalline market and provide more high-quality products for grid parity in China's photovoltaic industry.
