Yingkou Ningfeng Group increases ferronickel production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 3 Dec 20 - One of the major producers of ferronickel 10%min in Northeast China, Yingkou Ningfeng Group's production of ferronickel 10%min in November increased by about 2,000 tons month-on-month, and it is expected the output in December would be unchanged, a source from the company disclosed to Asian Metal.
"Our new ferronickel production line has gone through a running-in period, and the output of ferronickel 10%min has increased, and the output in November increased by about 2,000 tons from the previous month," the source said, and expected the output in December would be stable as November. The plant commissioned a new ferronickel production line in September this year, which is operating normally now.
The plant purchases imported lateritic nickel ore 1.5%min to produce ferronickel 10%min. With an annual production capacity of 144,000 tons of ferronickel 10%min, it produced about 70,000 tons in 2019, and produced about 50,000 tons so far this year. He holds no stock now.
Mainstream prices for Chinese ferronickel 10%min stood at RMB1,100-1,120/mtu (USD168-171/mtu) this Wednesday, down by RMB10/mtu (USD1.52/mtu) from early last week. With sluggish ferronickel deals closed, market participants expect that the price of ferronickel 10%min would stabilize basically in the coming week.
