In domestic market, the prices of metallurgical silicon metal 5-5-3 decreased significantly in 1st half of June as many producers in Yunnan and Sichuan resumed production with coming of wet season. In 2nd half of June, the prices went firm as traders started building up stocks as they believed the prices got quite close to the production cost. For chemical grade silicon metal, the prices also decreased because of weak demand and increasing output. In export market, the prices also dropped due to the weak demand and decreased purchase cost. Deals remained scarce throughout June with weak demand of most of foreign countries.
