Chinese lead ingot prices decline

A trader in Shanghai said that they sold about 500t of lead ingot 99.994%min at about RMB16,500/t (USD2,461/t) on Thursday, down by about RMB50/t (USD7.46/t) from Wednesday when they sold the same amount of the material. "Today, prices for lead ingot continue to decline and downstream customers take a firm wait-and-see attitude with purchasing from hand to mouth generally," the source said, expecting that prices for lead ingot would fluctuate around RMB16,500/t (USD2,461/t) in the coming week.

With a regular trade volume of 20,000tpm, the trader traded 15,000t in March and expects a stable trade volume in April, holding about 500t of stocks at present.

A producer in Hunan said that they sold about 60t of lead ingot 99.994%min at about RMB16,450/t (USD2,454/t) on Thursday, down by about RMB50/t (USD7.46/t) from Wednesday when they sold the same amount of the material. "At present, demand for lead ingot from downstream customers is still weak and our offer is about RMB50/t (USD7.46/t) lower than the futures price, RMB100/t (USD14.91/t) lower at most," the source said, expecting that prices for lead ingot would remain volatile in the coming week.

With an annual production capacity of 30,000t for lead ingot, the producer produced about 2,000t in March and expects a stable production volume in April, holding no stock at present.
