Zhanjiang Iron and Steel's third blast furnace project launches

On Dec 16, Zhanjiang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. under Baosteel held a launching meeting for the third blast furnace system project, which started Zhanjiang Steel & Iron's high-quality development.
It is reported that the construction of No.1 and No.2 blast furnaces started in May 2013 and May 2014 respectively, and the furnaces were started in September 2015 and July 2016. In order to meet the market's demand for ultra-high-strength steel products and further promote China Baowu steel industry optimization strategy, and improve Zhanjiang Steel's production technology and cost advantages, Baosteel Co., Ltd. launched Zhanjiang Iron and Steel 's third blast furnace system project. After the completion of the project, Zhanjiang Iron and Steel will have a total annual capacity of 12.25 million tons of molten iron, 12.25 million tons of molten steel, and 10.81 million tons of steel. The project is scheduled to go into production in July 2021.
