Alumina and other key industries face production cut or suspension in China's Zibo city

On November 14, Zibo city issued the production plan for industrial enterprises during autumn and winter 2018-2019 ("the plan"). According to which, key industries including iron and steel, coking, and alumina are required to carry out off-peak production from November 15, 2018 to March 15, 2019 for the purpose of reducing pollutant emission and improving air quality during autumn and winter.
Specially, iron and steel enterprises with blast furnace iron-making process shall restrict production by 50%.
Enterprises on the list of off-peak production plan that are found concealing violations of the plan will be forced to shut down production immediately and remain out of production for 120 days.
