1. Market Highlights
In May, affected by national industry policies, tight supply of vanadium products' upstream raw material vanadium pentoxide continued and prices for vanadium pentoxide flake kept firm trend. But depressed by steel mills' biddings continuously, prices for downstream products like ferrovanadium and vanadium-nitrogen alloy moved down to below cost line. Many producers were forced to shut down production line due to tight supply of raw material and production cost inversion. Chinese vanadium market was in a state of panic. With the start of a new round of biddings from steel mills at the end of the month, prices for downstream vanadium products have finally begun to pick up, beginning to reverse the unfavorable situation.
