BEIJING (Asian Metal) 26 Apr 18 - Mainstream transaction prices for Chinese tellurium metal 99.99%min are RMB590-600/kg (USD93.Asian Metal Copyright89kg for tellurium metal, up further by RMB10kg USD1.Asian Metal Copyright31-94.89/kg) at the moment, up by RMB10/kg (USD1.58/kg) from last week. As suppliers keep their quotations at the price level of about RMB600/kg (USD94.89/kg), it is anticipated that Chinese tellurium metal market would continue to run firmly in the coming week.

A trader in South China quotes RMB600/kg (USD94.89/kg) for tellurium metal 99.99%min for the time being, up by RMB10/kg (USD1.58/kg) from last week when the source sold 500kg of the material at RMB590/kg (USD93.31/kg), but no deals are concluded yet after the price adjustment. "We are bullish about the market outlook in a short time, and we make sales smoothly, so we do not plan to seal deals at any prices lower than RMB600/kg (USD94.89/kg)," said he.

With a regular trading volume of 5tpm of tellurium metal 99.99%min, the trader sold 5t in March and expects the sales volume to be unchanged in April, holding around 3t of stocks now.

"At present, suppliers offer RMB600/kg (USD94.89/kg) for tellurium metal, up further by RMB10/kg (USD1.58/kg), but we have no intention of purchasing temporarily," noted a consumer from North China, adding that they would mainly consume the waste in a short time as Chinese tellurium metal prices keep rising while thermoelectric cooler prices are hard to move up. They last bought 1t of tellurium metal at RMB470/kg (USD74.33/kg) before the Spring Festival.

With an annual consumption capacity of 15t of tellurium metal 99.99%min, the consumer usually uses about 600tpm and expects the same consumption volume this month, holding 2t of refined tellurium stocks now.
