Baotou in Inner Mongolia strives to make rare earth magnetic materials' output surpass 30,000t in 2020

Baotou in Inner Mongolia makes up for its shortcomings and strengthens weaknesses by focusing on its competitive industries in iron & steel, rare earth, equipment manufacturing and others, and accelerates the supply-side structural reform to promote its industries to enter into the medium-to-high-end global value chain and first build an important modern industry system in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
As a heavy industry city, Baotou expects the output of rare earth magnetic materials to surpass 30,000t by 2020 and the high-end products account for 50%; the comprehensive utilization of light rare earth reaches more than 20,000t with the conversion and utilization rate being over 50% then. The proportion of high-quality steel and special steel reaches up to about 95%; the aluminum capacity is expected to be 5 million tons and the processing conversion rate of primary aluminum on the spot surpasses 85% . The equipment manufacturing achieves a value of more than RMB280 billion, accounting for over 60% of the total proportion in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
