Wire rod and rebar prices in major markets of China saw a downward trend during this month due to lower raw material costs and weak customer demand. Customers without urgent need for materials were expecting the price to drop further and placing orders sparingly. Because of the environmental protection inspection, some steel mills had to reduce or quit production and the supply for construction steels decreased. Insiders do not suppose prices for wire rod and rebar will go up in the coming month.
