Anyang Steel stops rebar production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 19 Oct 17 - Henan province-based steel producer Anyang Steel stopped two rebar production lines on 17th October, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
According to the source, because of the insufficient supply for raw materials caused by the environmental protection inspection, they have to quit rebar production lines for yearly facility maintenance. “I don’t think we will resume the production in the short term,” he said, adding that the daily output of their two production lines is around 5,000t.
Holding an inventory of no less than 10,000t in hand now, the source said their supply for rebar will decrease in the coming days. In Anyang, the current mainstream price of HRB400Φ20mm from Anyang Steel is stable about RMB3,970/t (USD600/t) VAT included.
