Zhixing Metal reduces CR strip prices

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 19 Sep 17 - A source from Langfang-based CR strip producer Zhixing Metal reported to Asian Metal that they decreased the price of black annealed CR strip Q195 150mm*1.0mm*C by RMB20/t (USD3/t) on Monday to RMB4,410/t (USD673/t) VAT included on lower raw material prices of HR strip.
According to the source, local steel mills like Shengbao Steel have reduced the price of HR strip Q195 (232-355)mm*2.5mm*C by a total of RMB20/t (USD3/t) since last weekend to RMB4,050/t (USD618/t) VAT included on lower raw material prices of steel billet. Besides, his current processing charge for black annealed CR strip is RMB360/t (USD55/t), unchanged compared with that of last week.
However, expecting the price to go down further, customers without urgent need for materials are just holding a wait-and-see attitude and refusing to place orders. “Because of the environmental protection inspection, some downstream customers can not keep the regular production and the demand for CR strip is quite weak,” he said, adding that his current sales volume is less than 100tpd against that of no more than 5,000t for last month. Having no stocks in hand now, the source said customers need to place orders in advance and the lead time is ten to fifteen days.
Located in Langfang, Hebei province, Zhixing Metal is a major producer of CR strip in local market with a production capacity of around 30,000tpm.
