Nearly 10,000t of toxic imported coal returned from Jiangsu

On June 12, a cargo of 10,000t of imported coal from Iran was detected containing toxic and harmful elements which exceed the limit. The cargo of imported coal was returned by Jiangsu Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau in accordance with the law. This is also the first time that excessive toxic and harmful elements have been detected in large bulk cargo at Taicang port.
After sampling test, the content of fluorine is as high as 315μg/g, 1.5 times higher than the national-standard. The cargo cannot be imported, sold or transported in long-distance and Jiangsu Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau issued a returning certificate strictly in accordance with relevant operating procedures.
