Local media in Mozambique reported on 28 March that Savannah Resources plc (‘Savannah’) completed an initial drill programme at Ravene between 2002 and 2004 with a total of 119 holes and drilled 107 holes recently
The new Ravene resource includes a high-grade portion of 92Mt at 6 . 2% THM, which will be a primary focus within the scoping study currently being conducted and to be reviewed by Savannah and Rio Tinton after completed.
Savannah’s CEO, David Archer, stated that the drilling results of Mutamba project proved that Mozambique is an important origin of titanium . And the upward trend in prices of raw materials such as ilmenite and rutile will make the project progress well.
. Ravene resource estimation has defined estimate of 900Mt at 4 . 1% Total Heavy Minerals (‘THM’) and the heavy minerals deposit in Mutamba reached to 4 . 4 billion tons after accumulation, up by 26% from the previous result.
