Ferrochrome market prices were on the rise on the whole in 2016, and continued to move up significantly especially in Q4; some producers, who shut down previously, resumed production in succession, and even some producers of other products shifted to produce ferrochrome. With rises in ferrochrome prices, both spot prices at ports and overseas prices for chrome ore went up accordingly; market prices for chrome ore were on the rise on the whole in 2016.
