China directly invests $1.6 billion to Indonesia in Q1-Q3 of 2016

According to BKPM, China directly invested about $1.6 billion or Rp21 trillion to Indonesia in the first three quarters of 2016, ranked the third in terms of investment to Indonesia behind Singapore and Japan.
Indonesian mining industry is the most attractive section for overseas investors, among whom are investors from China, such as China Association of Industry and Commerce. On the 18th of January, Liu Cheng, secretary-general of the China Chamber of Commerce said at Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta, “Out first investment target is the mining industry as China is in great need of nickel and ferronickel used for producing stainless steel products.”
