Steel plate prices rose and then decreased in December and steel plate prices continued to rise in the first half of the month affected by the surge of futures and raw material prices. Producers in mainstream markets were generally confident about the market outlook and started to stock up and hold back for sales. But iron ore prices and steel billet prices started to decrease continuously in the second half of the month, leading to the decrease of steel plate prices. Purchasers suspended purchasing plans successively and took a watchful attitude about market outlook.
