In July, on account of the high temperature, some Shaanxi magnesium ingot plants’ output reduced slightly; some suspended the production to start with the equipment maintenance, such as Taida, Yide and Tianyu. By the end of this month, the output in China decreased to 49,100 tons, a decrease of 5.9% from that of in June. Supported by the tight supply and stable demand, the mainstream magnesium ingot prices went up by about RMB1,600/t (USD240/t). As most downstream consumers finalized the recent purchase and the traders built enough stocks, the market transactions slowed down and the prices showed the softening trend in the last week of this month.
