CRC prices go up further in Turkey

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 14 Apr 16 - Influenced by prices increase of steel raw materials such as scrap and billet, steel mills in Turkey lifted ex-works prices of CRC for June delivery
A trader in Kayseri told Asian Metal that the price of CRC DC01 1.0mm*1,250mm*C is USD580/t VAT excluded, up by around USD40/t compared with that of two weeks ago. According to the source, local steel mills announced to increase ex-works prices to USD600/t VAT excluded for June production. “The ex-works price went up by around USD100/t in the past month,” he said, adding that steel mills limited distributors’ purchasing volume . He revealed that steel mills offered him 500 tons for May production when he wanted to order 1,200 tons.
The company has 1,000 tons in hand for the time being, a little higher than that of 800 tons before March. The source revealed that customers were active in placing orders last month but they are cautious about it at present . His sales volume was around 1,500 tons in March but it is only 500 tons in first two weeks of the month . In his opinion, the market is likely to calm down in the near future.
