As revealed by provincial geological survey institutes, there are about 465 million tons of bauxite reserves being found in China in 2012, and Guangxi province took Shanxi province’s place with the most bauxite reserve. However, Shanxi’s position as the province where alumina refinery capacity expands fastest won’t be taken due to fast expansion of aluminum smelting capacity in northwestern regions.
