BEIJING (Asian Metal) 17 Dec 12 - Participants report to Asian Metal that the vanadium pentoxide flake export offer increases further to USD6.0/lb CIF Rotterdam supported by the price rise in Chinese market in recent month.
A Beijing-based exporter that has dozens of tons offers USD6.0/lb in Rotterdam port. "We received a lot of bids such as USD5.8/lb or USD5.9/lb, but we will not sell our products below USD6.0/lb," said the source.
The source reveals that the supply in Rotterdam is quite tight because Chinese exporters would not like to sell their products at the current price because of high replenishing cost.
A Liaoning-based exporter who has some long-term contracts offers USD6.0/lb CIF Rotterdam. "The demand in Chinese market is very strong and we prefer to sell at USD6.0/lb just because we want to maintain the relationship with our regular foreign clients," said the source.
The source reveals that USD5.8-5.9/lb has been an appropriate price for the European buyers.
