Chinese steel export up by 9.95% in Nov over Oct

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 13 Dec 11 – Latest data provided by Customs Bureau showed that China exported 4.2 million tons of steel products in November, up by 380,000 tons or 9.95% from that in October, and up by 44.33% year-on-year. In January-November of this current year, Chinese steel export totaled 45.16 million tons, up by 13.8% year-on-year.
In November, China imported 1.23 million tons of steel products, up by 30,000 tons or 2.5% from that in October, down by 10.87% year-on-year. In January-November, the imported steel totaled 14.39 million tons, down by 4.2% year-on-year.
In single November, China imported 64.20 million tons of iron ore, up by 14.26 million tons or 28.55% month-on-month, and up by 11.89% year-on-year. In the first eleven months of 2011, the imported iron ore accumulated to 622.01 million tons, up by 11.0% year-on-year.
In November, China exported no steel billet and imported 110,000 tons of the billet. In the first eleven months of this current year, Chinese imported steel billet totaled 590,000 tons, up by 4.4% year-on-year.
In November, China exported 90,000 tons of coke, down by 10,000 tons from that of last month. The total exported coke reached 3.2 million tons in the first eleven months, up by 6.6% year-on-year.
