In December, all producers in Ningxia and over 80% of the producers in Gansu halted production successively due to the environmental inspection and energy consumption control. Due to the weak demand and decreased prices of anthracite coal, most producers lowered the prices in the first week but hold the prices firm in the rest three weeks as the anthracite coal prices stabilized and the market supply shrank.

After lifting the prices sharply in November, most producers basically hold the prices firm or just slightly raised their prices in early December because most buyers refused higher prices.
