Daye Nonferrous delays conmissioning of 400ktpy copper smelter to mid-2022

Daye Nonferrous Metal Co., Ltd. recently announced that the commissioning of its 400,000tpy copper smelter has been delayed till the middle of 2022 rather than the end of 2021, as the shipments of imported equipment and parts were disrupted by COVID-19.
The smelter adopts "double flash" copper smelting technology and is projected to produce 1.6 million tonnes of copper concentrate, 400,000 tonnes of copper cathode and 1.5 million tonnes of sulphuric acid annually.
After this new smelter goes into operation, Daye Nonferrous expects to increase its copper cathode production capacity to one million tonnes per annum. This will position it as the fourth copper smelter with smelting capacity of at least one million tonnes per year in China along with China Copper, Jiangxi Copper and Tongling Non-ferrous.
