China's NEV production and sales hit new high in Sep

According to the economic operation data of automobile industry released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in September, China produced about 2.08 million vehicles and sold about 2.07 million units, up by 20.4% and 14.9% MOM respectively while down by 17.9% and 19.6% YOY. Among them, the production and sales of passenger vehicles recorded about 1.77 million units and about 1.75 million units respectively, up by 18.1% and 12.8% MOM while down by 13.9% and 16.5% YOY; those of commercial vehicles recorded 310,000 units and 317,000 units respectively, up by 35.5% and 28.2% MOM while down by 35.2% and 33.6% YOY; and those of new energy vehicles (NEVs) recorded 357,000 units and 357,000 units respectively, both up by 1.5 times YOY, hitting a new record.
From January to September, the production and sales of vehicles totaled about 18.24 million units and about 18.62 million units respectively, up by 7.5% and 8.7% YOY, and the rate of increase fell further compared with that in the first eight months. Among them, the production and sales of passenger vehicles totaled about 14.66 million units and about 14.86 million units respectively, up by 10.7% and 11% YOY; the production of commercial vehicles totaled about 3.59 million units, down by 4% YOY, and the sales of commercial vehicles totaled about 3.76 million units, up by 0.5% YOY; the production and sales of NEVs totaled about 2.17 million units and about 2.16 million units, up by 1.8 times and 1.9 times YOY.
